Job Summary:

The Commercial Electrician will be responsible for installing commercial electrical wiring, lighting, and electrical components according to local NEC codes.

Duties/Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with the customer and support staff.
• Digs underground trenches to carry cables.
• Cutting, bending, threading, and running electrical conduit materials.
• Terminating electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices.
• Installs EMT, PVC, GRC, and other conduit and cable systems.
• Install panels, disconnect, meters, and other gear- related items.
• Interpret and install building lighting controls.
• Inspects and tests powerlines and related equipment.
• Determines whether transformers, switches, or other devices are defective.
• Uses lifts, excavators, telehandlers, and other equipment during the installation process.
• Operates power tools and equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Working knowledge of powerline installation and repair of electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of National Electric Code.
• Ability to interpret basic drawings.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good work ethic and willingness to learn new methods.
• Self-motivated and driven to get job done.
• Proficient in electrical systems diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent mechanical skills.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship required.
• Current clean driving record required.

Physical Requirements

• Physically able to work with heavy tools and equipment at heights.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds at a time to carry heavy cable.
