Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Special Education Inclusion Specialist to join our educational team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment and ensuring that students with disabilities have the support they need to succeed.

Position Overview:

As a Special Education Inclusion Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that students with disabilities have full access to the general curriculum. Working closely with general education teachers, you will co-plan and co-teach, developing and implementing strategies to meet the unique needs of each student. Your expertise in inclusive practices and co-teaching models will be essential in creating an environment where all students can thrive together.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with general education teachers to co-plan and co-teach lessons that accommodate all students, including those with disabilities.
Modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Implement inclusive teaching strategies that promote student engagement and success.
Regularly monitor student progress, making adjustments to interventions and support as needed.
Provide expert consultation and guidance to general education teachers on best practices for inclusion.
Ensure all special education documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with regulations.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between general education and special education staff to support student learning.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement in South Carolina.
At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience in a school setting, preferably in a diverse or inclusive environment.
Strong experience with co-teaching models and inclusive educational practices.
Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to support varied learning needs.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
